Football Weekend: Man U 1 Liverpool 0

I just got back from Maxis on the ball event and what an experience it was. i'm a total blur case when it comes to English football but who cares, got some VIP passes(which wasn't really useful anyways) and a few friends to go watch the game between Manchester United and Liverpool, the two biggest rivals in British football, correct me if i'm wrong. Anyways, Maxis on the ball was held at the Sunway Lagoon Amphitheater and a giant screen was built to simulate a stadium for all football fanatics to come together and watch the game and support their favourite teams.
here were the Liverpool Supporters
Manchester United supporters
and also some showgirls who dressed to kill the crowd
We were also joined by Ray Wilkins and Lee Sharp who gave their views on how the game would end up that night. Both predicted Manchester United to take the win.

At the end of the night, Manchester United took home the win with one goal to nothing. The atmosphere was astounding and it is really an experience to watch football with a full on crowd who were all die hard fans of their respective teams. the cheers, and jeers simulated an almost stadium like effect for everyone.

Kat De Luna

Kathleen Emperatriz de Luna otherwise known as Kat de Luna in the music scene paid a visit to Malaysia's Number 1 hit Radio station on Friday. If you don't know who she is, maybe the song 'Whine up' might ring a bell.
I'm quite familiar with her single 'Whine up' and i personally think its a very catchy song. very techno-ish. Try checking out her official website if you have the time at www.katdeluna.com
In her interview she did mention that she is the only female artiste to break out from the Dominican Republic music scene and make it big internationally. Congratulations to her and we hope to see her back here again partying with us.

Rynn Lim's First Concert

Last Saturday, right after My Chemical Romance's Press Conference i headed down to the KL Convention Centre to meet up with fellow Alpha Members cause we were all invited by George Wong to shoot Rynn Lim's First Concert using our Sony Alpha Camera. And yes if you were wondering what camera i was using all this while to shoot all the pictures that i've used to post on this blog, its an Alpha A700 which is the latest edition to the Sony DSLR family.

I hardly listen to chinese music, but an opportunity to shoot a concert is definitely something i'll not forgo as i pretty much enjoy taking pictures of concerts. so we have it, Rynn Lim

one thing i like about chinese concerts is that they always have loads of costume changes and lost of backup dancers to complement them. i myself have not been to much chinese concerts, i think i can count all the chinese concerts i've been to with one hand, but all of those i attended were really good.

Ok Back to Rynn. His concert featured 3 guest appearances namely JJ Lin, A-Do and our very own Sheila Majid.

he reminds me of Hiro Nakamura
i can't comment much on the concert because i was mainly there to take pictures. but i'm sure it was good judging from the crowd response. And below is a group photo of the entire Alpha Team who was present that night to shoot the concert. Thanks to Smashpop for the photo.
can you spot me?

Live And Loud 2007: Shaggadelic!

Alright, the main highlight of the night was of course Whitney Houston, as this concert is her 'comeback' concert, but i don't think i would want to talk about her performance. Not being able to take pictures is one thing, but it just wasn't what i expected out of a Diva.

But then again! We have Shaggy! The King of Reggae!

Shaggy came on at approximately 11pm and it was an hour of non stop action filled with comedy and cheeky teases to the ladies. I've never seen Shaggy perform live but when i was young i used to listen to all his music such as "Summer Time" and of course who can forget the legendary Levi's commercial "Mr. Boombastic!"

Shaggy Teasing into Mr. Boombastic
Being able to catch him performing Live is indeed a great experience as his songs brought me back to the times when i was a lil kid listening to all my brother's Shaggy cassette collections. All featuring artistes who were in his album were also present to sing along to familiar tunes such as "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel".
He was practically in control of the crowd. I gotta give it up to this guy, he got the crowd on their feet screaming for more. And also got the whole crowd throwing up the middle finger! that was hilarious!
if you ask me who was the best of the night, it would have been, apart from our local acts, Shaggy. He'll be the reason why i never regretted going for The Live And Loud Concert in KL 2007.

Live And Loud 2007: Elliott Yamin

Elliot Yamin made his debut appearance in Malaysia at the Live and Loud '07 concert. Elliott is no stranger to the world with his latest hit single "Wait For You", which is airing on your local radio stations (particularly hitz.fm and MIX fm). i was handling a couple of winners who won meet and greet passes with the stars. We only managed to meet Elliot Yamin though because Whitney and Shaggy denied their meet and greet sessions.
so there he was, standing right in front of tent obligingly answering questions from the interviewers. he never turned down a request for a quick photo with him and was more than happy to interact with his fans. he is a lot shorter in person (maybe because i'm just tall), and also smaller, but fortunately, not his voice.
the mix fm crew and winners who got a chance to meet the man himself
Elliott came on stage to perform at about 7.30pm, giving a full fledge up beat performance like he normally does on Idol and ending his set with his latest single "wait for you" which got the crowd singing along with him.
Elliott is a great example of and individual who is dedicated and passionate about what he does. Elliott Yamin is 90% deaf in his right ear and was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of 16. But that doesn't stop him from pursuing his dream as an artiste, which finally paid off after joining American Idol.
damn i look weird

Wang Lee Hom: Change Me Part 1

On the 9th of November 2007, which was last Friday, i was fortunate enough to get an invitation to catch Wang Lee Hom's showcase in Sungei Wang. I was seated right in front of the stage but i didn't bother sitting down for the whole show as i was trying to get as many shots as i can.

This guy is one of my inspirations when it comes to making music. I mean, how would he not be an inspiration to all, he sings, plays the violin, drums, piano, guitar and along the way the list builds up and and you'll know when you listen to all his albums.

So back to the showcase, i didn't know how much, but by my rough estimation i think around 4,000 fans were gathered up at the 4th floor open air car park to await their Hero. Tell me what you think from this picture?
here's how the stage looked like that night
The whole showcase was hosted by our very own Phoebe of MY FM
And just before the show started, there were some games played on stage where they got some fans on stage to sing a song or two from the album.
And finally, who everyone was eagerly waiting to see finally made his way up on stage to sing a couple of numbers taken from his latest album entitled "Change Me"
