DAUGHTRY Live in Malaysia

So Chris Daughtry was in town to perform for the Sony Ericsson Traffic Jams Street Party. Its really exciting to finally see your American Idol whom you previously supported (but got kicked out) finally make his way to our Malaysian shores.

The whole Street PArty accomodated about 3,000 people and the only way in, was through invites and of course through hitz.fm. The only bitch about the concert was that the fact that it was raining but i guess that didn't come between the fans and the band.
Attended the Press Conference which was at One World Hotel
Among all the questions thrown at the band, there was one question which was asked to Chris

Question: You were able to work with one of the best Guitarist in the world and that is former Guns N Roses guitar legend, Slash, what was it like working with him?

Chris: I was disappointed really, mainly because when i met him he was wearing a baseball cap and his fro or big hair was gone, i was really expecting him to be in a Top Hat like how he usually was on stage when performing.....wait that doesn't quite answer your question doesn't it?

The whole band was very down to earth despite being known to be a Grammy Nominated, AMA Awards winning band who sold over 4 million albums in 2007. Now for some concert pictures
And Daughtry fans, look out because during the concert Daughtry played a couple of new songs. Look out for a new album early 2009 (quoted by Chris). Here's a video short to show you what the concert was like

The Black Parade

Yes from the topic i'm sure you know what i'm talking about. My Chemical Romance, Live in Kuala Lumpur 2007, what a way to end the year of 2007 by bringing down one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

The first My Chemical Romance song that caught my attention a few years back was their song entitled "Helena". well, i watched it on MTV and seriously thought that Helena was one of the best music videos ever made! it was freaking awesome! probably because i was a lil into the dark fashion attire at that point.

But none the less, a few years later The Black Parade swomped its way out to record stores earning the band several Platinum and Gold titles in their albums sales. Yes they're the BIG GUNS now, and they are taking Stadium Merdeka down!

Nat and Adam were the hosts for the night
Being in their already hectic schedule, the band still made the effort to actually take time off from their prep time to do an autograph session with their fans.
The crowd clocked in at over 18,000 at Stadium Merdeka, all eagerly waiting to see their favorite band come on stage to strut their stuff for a 1 hour 30 minutes concert (and now i know you're probably wondering why i'm writing so much and not getting to the good stuff)

Alright......Let's all go to the Black Parade with Gerard as our Leader!

meet mikey!
i went to the concert, looking forward to hear a couple of my favorites such as Helena, I don't Love you, I'm Not Ok and of course, The Black Parade and when they did, it was awesome! Watching them play live is indeed better than the record itself. i can't imagine how the band goes on non stop for an hour and the half with nothing but just pure adrenaline pumping showmanship. And of course when he started to sing the crowd's favorite...
the crowd just joined in and think to themselves, the long wait all this while was way worth it. i hope you've enjoyed this post of mine. do leave a shoutout if you attended the concert!
and if MCR were to come down for a second concert, i'd definitely be the first in line to join the Parade again! cheerz!

Wang Lee Hom: Change Me Part 2

Lee Hom came out to sing 3 numbers that night, and right after that, the autograph session commenced. But before that, the members of the media were invited on stage to take a picture with the crowd as his background. i was struggling to take a good picture, but i guess the one below was the best i could get.with that done, on to the next. you have to admire Lee Hom for being really patient as he just sat there for 3 straight hours, signing albums after albums after albums. He ensured that all albums will be signed before he leaves.
so he gives the thumbs up!
and then goes on auto-pilot for the next three hours
but someone that night caught my attention, and i managed to get a picture of her way before the concert actually started.
this is Bel
Bel had an unfortunate accident as a child, only realizing at the age of 15, that it affected her sight. That night with all the lights being so bright, it affected her vision and caused her to feel really uncomfortable, also, not being able to get a glimpse of her idol on stage. Frustration overruled and caused her to get really upset.
Lee Hom, on the other hand, noticed her and stopped signing all autographs to just attend to her and consoled her. Not only is he a talented singer, but he cares about his fans dearly. I have utmost respect for this guy.
Well Bel, warm wishes from me, and best wishes to you. You're a hero by just keeping your chin up and not letting anything get in your way. I only wish you'll be able to seek what you're longing for. This will be my final post for Lee Hom's showcase in Malaysia, its been a memorable event, lots of passionate fans, and a gifted musician with a BIG heart. Big shoutout to Homaniacs, you guys are awesome! And this post, goes out to Bel.

Best Regards,
Jin

Wang Lee Hom: Change Me Part 1

On the 9th of November 2007, which was last Friday, i was fortunate enough to get an invitation to catch Wang Lee Hom's showcase in Sungei Wang. I was seated right in front of the stage but i didn't bother sitting down for the whole show as i was trying to get as many shots as i can.

This guy is one of my inspirations when it comes to making music. I mean, how would he not be an inspiration to all, he sings, plays the violin, drums, piano, guitar and along the way the list builds up and and you'll know when you listen to all his albums.

So back to the showcase, i didn't know how much, but by my rough estimation i think around 4,000 fans were gathered up at the 4th floor open air car park to await their Hero. Tell me what you think from this picture?
here's how the stage looked like that night
The whole showcase was hosted by our very own Phoebe of MY FM
And just before the show started, there were some games played on stage where they got some fans on stage to sing a song or two from the album.
And finally, who everyone was eagerly waiting to see finally made his way up on stage to sing a couple of numbers taken from his latest album entitled "Change Me"
