DAUGHTRY Live in Malaysia

So Chris Daughtry was in town to perform for the Sony Ericsson Traffic Jams Street Party. Its really exciting to finally see your American Idol whom you previously supported (but got kicked out) finally make his way to our Malaysian shores.

The whole Street PArty accomodated about 3,000 people and the only way in, was through invites and of course through hitz.fm. The only bitch about the concert was that the fact that it was raining but i guess that didn't come between the fans and the band.
Attended the Press Conference which was at One World Hotel
Among all the questions thrown at the band, there was one question which was asked to Chris

Question: You were able to work with one of the best Guitarist in the world and that is former Guns N Roses guitar legend, Slash, what was it like working with him?

Chris: I was disappointed really, mainly because when i met him he was wearing a baseball cap and his fro or big hair was gone, i was really expecting him to be in a Top Hat like how he usually was on stage when performing.....wait that doesn't quite answer your question doesn't it?

The whole band was very down to earth despite being known to be a Grammy Nominated, AMA Awards winning band who sold over 4 million albums in 2007. Now for some concert pictures
And Daughtry fans, look out because during the concert Daughtry played a couple of new songs. Look out for a new album early 2009 (quoted by Chris). Here's a video short to show you what the concert was like

Its Been Too Long!

Yes it has been too long since i last posted here, maybe because i have another blog site which is the station's blog site which i have to upkeep every now and then, and not to mention that we have to watch what we post and stuff like that (you get the picture)

Joining the hitz.fm team was really overwhelming for me and if you think having the gift of the gab seals you the job, well that's only partial of the whole entire process ;) I am still taking loads of pictures, hoping to post them up here for your viewing pleasure. why not i just do it now?

quite recently i went for the Japan GT, not for the race but for the babes of course;)

let's see what else have i been up to since i joined hitz. Ah yes, upon joining Jin The MC came down to Malaysia for his promotional tour. If you would backtrack on this blog, he has been here before and this was the second round and he heard me on air. I remember Rudy coming up to me and telling me

Rudy: Jin, Jin the MC just called man, he says he wants to battle you for the name 'Jin'. There's only one room for Jin in Malaysia and its gonna be him

and of course, that battle did happen

i have met a lot of artistes and stuff like that. Done a few interviews and all that, and i think i'm really enjoying myself at this point. Do tune in to my show once in a while if you have the time aight? 92.9 in the Klang Valley, i do the Hitz Top 30, 1pm to 4pm weekdays

Freeze For World Earth Day, Save Energy by Freezing People and Power

We will Freeze in Sunway Pyramid at 8pm on Sunday 20th April. Your time must be accurate to the second. Do head on down to www.randomalphabets.com for more info on how to do that

Be punctual. You don’t want to miss anything out. *Hinthint*

Gathering Point-> 7.30pm. Be around the ice skating rink. Your choice: Ground Floor, Lower Ground Floor 1 OR Lower Ground Floor 2. When you’re there, look out for little green flyers that will have information regarding the Freeze Point. We Freeze at 8pm.

Try coming to the venue, Sunway Pyramid by using public transport or organise a car-pool.

Before you leave your house, turn off as many eletrical appliances as you can. Something so simple goes a long way.

Wear something green. With a (yellow?) smile on your face.

We will be making an impact and creating awareness in conjunction with World Earth Day. So try to Freeze with items or symbols of environmentalism.

Have sunglasses on and a paper fan to symbolise global warming, Freeze with a group of people picking up litter to symbolise the pollution, or with a flourescent light bulb to symbolise saving energy, with an LRT ticket/on a bicycle to symbolise means of transportation which will help reduce CO2 emissions. Or perhaps with a face mask on to symbolise air pollution, or with a crushed hair spray aerosol bottle to symbolise anti-CFC releasing products. Or you can even Freeze with a plant/small tree in a pot with a bandage around the stem/trunk to “save a tree”.

What i've been up to

Its been ages since my last post, and thanks Adam for keeping my shoutbox active and kinky, hahahah. I've been pretty busy, well VERY busy for the past 2 months as i was in the middle of a transition period in terms of job scope. I was working for the Promotions department of hitz.fm but i'm now working as an announcer on Malaysia's Number 1 Hit Station doing 10am - 1pm everyday.

I was working 2 jobs for the past 2 months, office job by day, announcing with Ean by night. but starting next week i'll be full time over at 92.9
Recently took some pictures at the Sunburst Music Festival that happened lat Saturday, if you weren't there, here's what you missed out on.

Sony Alpha Photo Contest

So yesterday i attended the Sony Alpha Roadshow which was help at Mid Valley which was showcasing 2 things, the A200 and also the Sony 300mm f2.8 lens (which is a beauty). I'm not turning this site into a tech site or anything but seriously Sony Alpha has really evolved from first releasing the A100, then the A700 (which i am currently using) and now the A200.

And if you're thinking of getting into the world of DSLR, a Sony Alpha A200 ain't a bad one to start with.
I didn't take much pictures of the new products up for show (which i should have) but the sole reason i was there was to meet the Alpha Community who were all there to participate in a photo shoot out contest which was waving a lens as the grand prize.

Well obviously i didn't win, but i would like to share some pictures that i took. We were given a few themes where we were only supposed to choose one. I took a few and here they are.
The Theme for this photo was "Children"
The main idea to this photo was to show that there's no better love than your mother's love. and here in the picture you can see the young boy's arm around his mom, symbolizing security, just in case if you were wondering, this was the photo i submitted.
The theme to this photo was "Plants"
Theme to this picture was "Bridges"
And my last picture, the theme to this picture was "Taxi Stand"
And Here's a Group Pic of the Community (Pic Courtesy of SmashPop)

JIN MC (no not me!)

Jin, the Emcee, otherwise known as 100 Grand Jin came in to the studios today for an interview with the Morning Crew and also to judge the current Year End Rap Up contest which hitz.fm was currently running.

Jin aka Au-Yeung Jin was born in Miami, Florida and at a young age aspired to become a professional rapper one day. Well he's done paying his dues because he's world known for his freestyle battles and landed a record deal with Ruff Ryders and also played minor roles in movies such as 2 Fast 2 Furious.

He's now in Malaysia to promote his latest album entitled "ABC" for "American Born Chinese" and detoured to hitz.fm for a quick shoutout and if you caught the interview this morning, you'd have to agree with me that he's one heck of a cool guy!

And last but not least, this is JIN and Jin, lol

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Finally a brand new year to look forward to! so how did you usher int he New Year? I hope the jam didn't discourage you to head on out to a hotspot to let loose and party the night away.

I attended the H20 Year End Beach Blast Party as my station was the official radio station that was pushing the entire event. the event was featuring artistes like The Desserters, Bttersweet, Aseana Percussion Unit and the main event of the night, The Riley & Durrant Sound System featuring Gina Dootson and Switch MC.

We were hanging out at the VIP area so basically drinks were free flow (until we finished them). but nonetheless it was something different than how I usually would usher in the new year. i'm talking about massive jams, or going to an enclosed club and hear the fireworks outside, or maybe cramp yourself together with 10,000 other strangers to get a glimpse of the city fireworks.
Adam and Nat were the hosts for the night
and of course, we've got friends who were there to party along as well. spot yourself!

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I'm really disappointed that i didn't get any gifts for Christmas this year, i usually do. what did i do to deserve such treatment? have i been a naughty boy? i'm pretty sure that i've been good this year...honest!
i've been really good to my friends
i'd always made sure i took care of them(especially him) when they're drunk
I've also stopped partying a lot and stopped drinking for a while now...
and i've also kicked the habit of gambling when i know that i'm just not good enough in playing poker
so can i please be taken off the naughty list and be in line to sit on your lap for next Christmas Santa? pweaaseeee? :)

As the year closes in, we reflect on what has impacted us the most during the entire year, both in the negative and also the positive way. with that, we'll make resolutions in preparation for a better year ahead. with that i wish everyone a very Happy New Year to come, apologies for all the troubles i might have caused and hope you make the best of 2008!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Have Yourself, a Merry Little Christmas

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
From now on our troubles will be far away

Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

~Mel Torme~

To everyone who's celebrating Christmas, i would like to wish a you a Merry Little Christmas and a happy new year!

Football Weekend: Man U 1 Liverpool 0

I just got back from Maxis on the ball event and what an experience it was. i'm a total blur case when it comes to English football but who cares, got some VIP passes(which wasn't really useful anyways) and a few friends to go watch the game between Manchester United and Liverpool, the two biggest rivals in British football, correct me if i'm wrong. Anyways, Maxis on the ball was held at the Sunway Lagoon Amphitheater and a giant screen was built to simulate a stadium for all football fanatics to come together and watch the game and support their favourite teams.
here were the Liverpool Supporters
Manchester United supporters
and also some showgirls who dressed to kill the crowd
We were also joined by Ray Wilkins and Lee Sharp who gave their views on how the game would end up that night. Both predicted Manchester United to take the win.

At the end of the night, Manchester United took home the win with one goal to nothing. The atmosphere was astounding and it is really an experience to watch football with a full on crowd who were all die hard fans of their respective teams. the cheers, and jeers simulated an almost stadium like effect for everyone.
